We’ll work together to achieve what you care about
Most of us feel we are very good at understanding ourselves. We have a solid explanation for why we're anxious, why the same arguments keep happening, why we don't let something go. Sometimes that story helps. Often, however, it's part of what keeps us stuck, because once we've explained something we stop wondering about it — we stop looking for alternative explanations.
We'll look at what's happening in your body, in your thoughts, between you and the people who matter to you. We will look at what it means, and what else it could mean. It sounds simple and it isn’t always easy. It is, however, surprisingly powerful. Exploring how a particular meaning got created lets us create new meanings, create new experiences, create freedom.
You don’t need to have worked with a therapist before… or even have confidence that it will work.
I will be compassionate, respectful, and trustworthy. I value direct speech and humor, so we’ll even laugh together at times (yes, therapy can include laughter).
I've spent more than 25 years studying how people experience their lives and how the stories we tell shape what we believe is possible. That started well before my Master's degree in Existential-phenomenological Psychology, and it continues to this day. In that time I've designed and produced classes on this material, coached individuals and groups, and worked with clients one on one — continuing my studies the whole time. It's the ground under everything else I do, from couples work to psychedelic integration to sitting with someone who's dying.
